04/24/2024 – Gentlemen, I am back with our second running shoe review. This time its the Hoka Mach 6. I had the pleasure of test running a pair of Hoka Mach 6’s through my local running store. I only ran about 6 miles in these shoes but here are my thoughts.
The pair of Hoka Mach 6’s I wore were manufacturer demos provided to us by the local Hoka rep. I am unsure how many miles (if any) were previously run in the shoe but the Mach 6’s are nice. The Mach 6 was comfortable and I definitely see them as an everyday trainer.
In my opinion, they will feel good on runs up to 10 miles or so. If I am running more than 10 miles and its not race day, I tend to wear a more supportive and more padded shoe, like the Saucony Endorphin Shift 3.
The Mach 6’s also have some serious pop when compared to my other everyday trainers. I have never run in a pair of Hoka everyday training shoes (only their nylon-plated Mach X) but let me tell you, it feels good. It took me about a mile to get used to the shoe providing so much pop in each stride, but after about a mile the shoes felt great.
After the run, many of my fellow runners who owned the Mach 5 said the Mach 6 was much better. They said the Mach 6 was more comfortable and had a better feel than the previous generation.
I wish I had more time in these shoes after my first experience with them. I highly recommend the Mach 6 if you need a new pair of running shoes. The Hoka rep said these shoes should last well over 300 miles so they are durable and long-lasting.
I rate these as a 7.5 out of 10 for overall quality, comfort, and feel.
